Many teachers offer extra hours beyond what is required to offer students extra help and support. We offer an extensive amount and variety of curricular and extracurricular opportunities for students to take advantage of from our award winning ROTC program, extensive hands on lab opportunities aquaculture lab, freight farm, school garden, hydroponics , loads of AP level courses in all subject areas, music program, automotive, electrical, building and home repair, TV studio, culinary program, not to mention all the after school activities.

If you have pets the Saturday night fire crackers and m80s will have every dog in the area barking when everyone is trying to sleep followed by the sirens of the police. Salem is a party town were older and handicap people aren't protected. At least 13 traffic lights within a mile drive. So many potholes that can hurt your car. Have your brakes replaced regularly". Buses to both also close by. Easy and short access to malls and major highways by car.

The principal talks the talk but cannot and will not support you. I am extremely disappointed in the way the school handles any kind of concerns. There are a few exceptions. From the secretaries who made you uncomfortable from the moment you walk in and continue to talk personal talk while you wait for them to finish and then wait while they give you an attitude to the lack of involvement from the principal. The few good staff members are wonderful but the rest ruin it for them.

You will see the principal himself at all the events and he is all in on being there for his students, as are all the teachers. The park at the school is brand new and was just redone 2 years ago. The school has walking initiatives when the weather is better, and an event for all the major holidays.

Close to downtown Waltham and easy commute to Boston.

Car is needed for shopping and stuff. Overall a great residential area. There are some great places to eat on Moody street. There are quiet and upscale enclaves like Waltham Highlands, Bishop's Forest, and some other areas more up and coming.

Overall, Waltham has put a lot into their infrastructure and beautification over the last years including those maroon place marker signs, landscaping of parks, and permitting to developers that just built the Main Street Market place to the south of the highlands.

Also, between Waltham and Weston a massive complex of restaurants some say to rival Legacy Place in Dedham , stores, hotel, and condos is now being built.

The first stage to be completed by the end of Community involvement is quieter, but present, with a couple of local community gardens, a nice library, and devoted first responders.

Cannot beat the commute from here. It's a great place to get into before Waltham prices match Boston or Cambridge's!! Very steep hill, winter can be a problem, but the city does keep the streets plowed well. Child safe. We often go to the Park to the montain top exercise and see Boston Skyline.

There is a bus 70 direct to go Cambridge. So sometimes in snow days, or only one car, we ride bus to work.
